What Is Double Deep Pallet Racking?

Double deep racking is a type of pallet racking system that allows for two pallets to be stored on each side of the system, providing double the storage at each location in comparison to a standard racking system.

The pallets are accessed from one side of the system, reducing the number of operating aisles that are required.

This does, however, mean that pallets are less accessible, which is why this type of warehouse racking is best suited to operations that deal with bulk quantities of the same product.

• Up to 50% more storage space vs. a regular adjustable pallet racking system
• Adjustable beam positions to suit all kinds of stock and pallet size
• Reduces the number of aisles to maximise the cube

Are There Any Drawbacks?

Due to the increased depth of the system, specialist fork trucks will be required. However, the increased storage capacity will offset the cost of the new trucks over time. Additionally, access to pallets is more restricted in comparison to a standard racking system.
