We Are Proud To Be a Carbon Neutral Business | BSE UK

We Are Now Carbon Neutral!

We Are Now a Carbon Neutral Business!

We are delighted to announce that BSE UK has worked with Carbon Neutral Britain to become an officially carbon neutral business!

We have always been conscious as both individuals and as a business about our impact on the environment and how we can negate this.

With our carbon neutral status, we’re supporting carbon-reducing projects in the UK and worldwide, such as hydroelectric power in the Amazon.

About Carbon Neutral Britain

Carbon Neutral Britain is a carbon offsetting initiative based in the UK that helps individuals and businesses become carbon neutral through carbon offsetting.

By calculating the carbon output of a business or individual, they can then offset this amount by supporting certified projects in Britain and around the world that reduce the amount of CO² in the atmosphere.

So far, the initiative has already helped offset 500,000 tonnes of CO² and contributed to planting over 3 million trees worldwide!

How Does It Work?

Before we could become a carbon neutral business, the team at Carbon Neutral Britain first calculated our carbon footprint, which was measured in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO²e).

After offering guidance on how we could initially reduce our emissions, the remaining carbon footprint was offset through the support of certified projects, balancing out our emissions to become carbon neutral.

The projects are all verified to high standards through the largest Carbon Certifications in the world and include a variety of different developments across the world.

Projects that Are Supported By Carbon Neutral Britain

One of the projects supported by Carbon Neutral Britain is ‘Maracanã’ a small hydropower plant with an installed capacity of 10.656 MW.

The project is located in Nova Marilândia, Brazil and reduces an average of 17,183 tCO2 per year. The project activity has several social and environmental programs like providing historical data over soil and water quality of its area of influence.

The plant has an installed capacity of 10.656 MW and can generate an average of 61,583 MWh per year! The project is connected to the Brazilian National Interconnected System.
